Guildford Labour has elected Anne Rouse as its new Chair. She will be supported by Vice Chairs Cllr Howard Smith and Michael Hassall and a new executive team consisting of both experienced and younger supporters. Following the local elections Guildford Labour is riding high with gains in councillors and vote share and it is clear that central Guildford seats are now all Labour/LibDem marginals.

Anne Rouse commented “I am honoured that the local party have endorsed my nomination. We have a brilliant team here at Guildford Labour and I am hopeful that their perseverance will reward us in future elections. Many thanks to Brian for ensuring that we have a strong base of support to start with and from which we can grow.”

Outgoing Chair Brian Creese added “I have been in the role for almost four years, and we feel these have been really positive years. We have steadily improved our position after the 2019 election, and have more councillors, more votes, more members and more support in Guildford. One thing I am really proud of is that we have been able to train your supporters to go onwards and upwards. So it is particularly gratifying that Jacob Allen, who we employed as an assistant two years ago, was elected a councillor in Brighton earlier this month, showing that we can spread our success across the region!”
