Mark Redhead - Shalford

I have lived in Guildford with my partner for 31 years, bringing up two sons, now both adults.  I currently work in Surrey for an engineering firm helping them win work in the UK for their locally based workforce.

I am a committed member of the local community with a variety of roles over the years including being a member of my local Residents Association for over 15 years, as the current Chairman of Guildford City FC, and being involved in other volunteering work within Surrey. Through my interest in real ale I also volunteer every year at the Great British Beer Festival, recently as manager of Corporate Hospitality.

Professionally I have spent the last 6 years working as a bid designer and writer for an engineering firm in Leatherhead.  Before this I was an IT Management Consultant, working largely in financial services in the UK but I also worked regularly in Europe, South East Asia and the US.

I know well the problems facing families and older people today, especially in Health and Social Care, and will stand up to protect our community from further unfair cuts in services and rises in local taxation.

Surrey County Council has presided over a litany of failures in serving our local community; I believe that Shalford needs a representative who can speak out to protect our vital local services and support all members of our community.
